School of Thermal Analysis

The 11th School of Thermal Analysis (SAT'2026) is a specialized scientific and training event dedicated to methods of thermal analysis and their applications in material, chemical, pharmaceutical, biological and environmental fields, both in research and industrial laboratories.
The SAT'2026 programme includes a series of lectures prepared and conducted by recognised experts in thermal analysis and calorimetry. The curriculum content has been designed to meet the needs of both beginners who want to gain a solid theoretical and practical foundation, as well as researchers who already have experience in designing and conducting experiments using thermal techniques.
The lectures will cover a wide range of issues, including:
  • theoretical and physicochemical foundations of thermal analysis,
  • review of measurement techniques (e.g. DSC, modulated DSC, TG, DMA, TMA),
  • criteria for the selection of methods for specific types of materials and research problems,
  • interpretation of complex thermal effects and analysis of measurement errors,
  • combining thermal methods with complementary techniques,
  • kinetic analysis,
  • examples of applications in modern research directions, such as materials engineering, polymer analysis, catalyst research, biomaterials, thermal stability analysis or characterization of bioactive substances.

An important element of SAT'2026 is the Young Scientists Forum (YSF), which allows young researchers to present their own results in the form of oral presentations. The Forum is conducive to the exchange of experiences, allows for constructive substantive assessment and in-depth discussions with experts and representatives of various scientific fields. These discussions often provide an impulse for new directions of research and initiate potential cooperation between participants.

In addition, a poster session is planned, during which participants will be able to present their works in the form of scientific posters. Detailed guidelines for the preparation and submission of abstracts, presentations and posters can be found in the For Authors tab.

Participants will receive a certificate confirming their participation in the training and the acquisition of knowledge and skills necessary to conduct research using thermal analysis techniques
